Welcome to the home of CFA

Founded in 2020, the academy has a long history of winning championships, developing players for state and national team selection

History Blog Fencing traces its roots to the development of swordsmanship for duels and self defense. Fencing is believed to have originated in Spain; some of the most significant books on fencing were written by Spanish fencers. Treatise on Arms was written by Diego de Valera between 1458 and Continue Reading

My two girls have been attending the school for 1/2 year now. Fencing is a challenging sport, but the great coaches at this academy made all the difference.

I've been fencing at CFA for a little over a year now, and it's a great place to learn the sport with knowledgeable and fun coaches, a great atmosphere, and frequent opportunities to improve and fence in local tournaments! I'd definitely recommend it.

My 9-year-old son first went to a week of summer camp, then said he enjoyed it so much he wanted to do another week, and now we have signed up as members doing classes twice a week. It has been hard for us to find a sport which he likes so we are happy that the coaches have gotten them inspired. Really nice venue as well.

Our son has been attending CFA for nearly a year. I should say "attending" is the bare minimum description of his experience at CFA. The staff, students, and other parents have become an extension of our own family. In terms of the substance of the fencing instruction, it's absolutely top notch - there are numerous classes with plenty of other students at a variety of skill levels, but CFA's outstanding instructors are also available for one-on-one training sessions and strip coaching at tournaments. We have fully enjoyed our experience with Eric, Ahmad, Andy and all the rest of the team. Looking forward to many more years in the program.

My friends have been going to Cleveland Fencing academy for the past half a year or so and have been inviting me to participate with them. I finally got to watch them fence at club tournament today and it was awesome. It was amazing seeing how well they were twirling their sabers round, one of them even came in third place, got a medal and a Mitchel’s ice cream gift card. He told me his goal was to go to US national championships in veterans category. I hope he makes it happen.

My kid has ASD. The coaches here are very patient an helpful. My kid finally learned how to attend a competitive sport and accepted win or lose as a part of life.

I have to say, I’m impressed with CFA since my niece started fencing. She was doing gymnastics but switched over to fencing for the competition. She's been training with the CFA coaches since the summer camp and won her first tournament a couple weeks ago! The competitions are exciting and she is gaining so much confidence. Thanks CFA and coaches!

Cleveland Fencing Academy has a good age range of both girls and boys learning the sport. The coaching is excellent and the atmosphere is one of teammates supporting each other.
