First Time At Paris Marathon

I can’t imagine a day better spent then winning my first 10 bouts at the Paris Marathon, going to a 19th century French cafe with my mom, then spending 3 hours at the Louvre (seeing the Mona Lisa). That’s how Joseph Guth spent last Saturday with his mom. What a magical moment. Earning the respect of his peers, Joseph was ranked #2 out of 210 fencers from all around the world. And this was a 14 and under event.

Day two was a little bit more rough without a coach, the adrenaline had worn off, and a lack of experience along with jet lag kicked in.
Our goal going in was top 64 and we got that! Joseph had to fence 16 bouts to get to that point.
Next year will be your year. And hopefully we have a couple more CFA fencers and coaches there to support each other.
