Hi CFA Fencing Community,

I always knew the day would come when our saber program would go toe-to-toe with our foil program. I believe today is the day that moment has come. The 23 saber participants today outstripped our 16 foil fencers!

Kudos to coach Sergei for putting together such a great program in such a short period of time. In the sanctioned senior division, coach Sergei’s students took the silver and both bronze medals. And with a turnout of 13 novice saber fencers, the kids got in a couple hours worth of fencing with a very gifted young man winning the gold medal, Ezra Rosenblatt.

Our foil fencers got similar results in the senior category also getting the silver and both bronzes. In the team tournament, a very experienced team from Royal arts in Columbus took the gold with CFA fencers taking bronze and silver.

We’ll see you all at the next tournament February 24th when all 2011 born fencers will be able to participate in the senior category! Thank you to coach Ahmad for helping support this tournament.
